I assume nothing is plugged in to the non-Intel ports, so the Marvel controller is reporting no physical disk found. I am not sure about that particular board, but a lot of the new SB boards have 8 SATA ports, 4 of them 6Gbps, 2 are through the southbridge, 2 are through an onboard Marvel controller. No physical disk found I assume means exactly that. If you can get in to the BIOS/UEFI try disabling anything that smacks of power saving or green features, or IRQ management and go from there. So it isn't posting? Or it is posting, but it freezes just after post (can you get to the BIOS/UEFI?)? Maybe a bum power management chip on the board? My best guess is that somehow, the IRQ used for APIC is conflicting with something else, err, something like that. I've never heard of an ACPI APIC post error. I think it is for disabling or power ramping on certain chipset/motherboard functions. APIC is some kind of power saving function that the OS interfaces with BIOS/motherboard using. ![]() The ACPI as you might have figured out by googling is what is used to handle IRQ management with multiprocessors.or I should makes IRQ management more efficient. ACPI APIC as near as I can tell means that for some reason the method that the motherboard is using for power saving features is causing a boot problem. Buy EVGA X79 DARK - LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 E-ATX Motherboard with Brand New GUI BIOS (150-SE-E789-KR) with fast shipping and top-rated. 1.21 doesnt have the dip and it could only run m2 nvme / pcie, not m2 sata. Not very helpful is it. revisions before that would only allow for nvme m2s and wrong dip will BURN the motherboard. my board is revision 1.21, the latest one seems to be 1.3, where they changed the layout and added a dip switch to the m2 slot to allow for sata m2s. their factories and equipment look really solid and legit. ![]() it also has got 1 year warranty, which is really nice for used parts and they are well tested before. one can clearly tell they do improve their product steadily. my board has the latest bios version X79GA00E from march 2020. There was also talk about some bios options being hidden until optimized defaults are loaded. #X79 DARK BOOT C DRIVERS#i would stay away from installing any additional drivers and so on. Supports Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0. If i had known before there was such a thing, id never bought an am4 platform. their product engineering is highly advanced and these people clearly know what they are doing. Then take screen shots of the main bios page and the mem page using F12 key. regarding board components at first glance i really dont see any differences from lets say a regular motherboard since all our tech comes from china / taiwan anyway. Put a usb stick in and boot up into bios. It arrived in about two weeks and was sufficiently packed. #X79 DARK BOOT C MANUAL#even the cheapest of them perform great in games.Ĭheckout this dudes channel for some really nice comparisons: Configuring the X79 Dark BIOS This supplementary manual explains the different menus and selections within the BIOS and provides a description of the different options enabling you to configure the X79 Dark BIOS for your needs. they are all really nice, be they v1, 2, 3, 4 or ddr3 / 4, doesnt really matter, depending on what you are willing to pay and some are unlocked by default like 1620 v v2. apart from that some other xeons do also have their advantages for gaming with very low prices and high single core frequency like 1620, 1650, 26. i watched a whole lot of videos about different xeons for gaming, but the e5 2689 really seemed to be something special out of all the other common xeons for gaming, since it used to be an oem-only cpu and was never really available to consumers until now. i found this kit to be the most reasonable in price-performance (8 cores, 16 threads, 16 gb, 1600 mhz) and because it was on sale when i got it even a little bit cheaper. ![]()
